His Holy Name {Almighty}

I know its been a loooong while since I've posted any LO's from my HHN album. We'll just say life has gotten in the way- and once you get behind its so hard to catch up... then you get the snowball effect.

This week we had a very inspiring message at church (thanks Paster Joe!) and I have renewed my commitment to continue with this study/album. Just being back in the word the last few days God has already spoken such joy to my heart! I soak up His word like a sponge and wonder why I rob myself of being in His presence.

So here is the fruit of my labors, I hope to be sharing more pages with you soon as I attempt to catch up! (I think I'm about 7 names behind eek!)

First is the front/back of the mini album for my dear friend. the verse on the back reads...

"I am the Apha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty" -Revelation 1:8

the front page of MY 6x6 album has the same verse on it as the mini page.

The back page reads:

As you come to truly know God as El Shaddai, God Almighty, you will be enabled to lay hold of the truth of His power and His sufficiency to carry out what He has promised. Paul teaches faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. So to hear and understand the meaning of El Shaddai is to have one's faith bolstered and undergirded. Then, when fear or doubt creep in or are thrown at us like fiery missiles from the Evil One, we can take up this shield of faith.
El Shaddai
All powerful
All Sufficient
Almighty

Hybird Scrapping

This is my first attempt at a hybird album (part digi part traditional scrapbooking). I downlaoded the album kit from http://www.faithsisters.com/ The kit is called Simply Lime by Meridith Cardall. After creating the digi album with pictures from my Sisters recent wedding, I had the 4x6 pages printed at Costco. I cut them out added some fun embellishments, and tied them all together.

The best part about creating a digi album is not only was I able make the album for my sisters birthday, but was able to make easy and quick coppies for other family members!

Here is the album completed

Digital title page

Title page with paper flowers and button accents

Digi pages 1-4

Digi pages 5-8

Real buttons added to the final album pages.

Digi pages 9-12

Decorative button embelishment added. (I love this page!)

Digi pages 13-16

Pearls and paper flowers added

Digi pages 17-20

metal monogram letter and jute

His Holy Name- Creator

You have to listen to this song, it goes with this Name so perfectly...

Indescribable: by Chris Tomlin

front page

"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth" Genesis 1:1

back page:

We must hold firmly that God supernaturally created the universe, including the earth, plant and animal life, and the first human beings. It is not due to natural processes. If we accept the first verse of the Bible, we must allow for the miraculous when it comes to the origin of all that is, because God is over natural processes, not subject to them. And it means that God is over us. That’s the real issue at the heart of all the explanations of origins. If God supernaturally created the earth and the human race, then we must submit ourselves to His sovereignty by living in obedience to His revealed will.

I Scrapped!

Now don't faint in shock, but I actually scrapped! I think this is the first time I have put pictures to paper THIS YEAR! Ack! (I've just been having too much fun with my stamps, cards, mini albums, and other projects!) It was fun to branch out to 12x12 again!

The photograph of this LO is terrible. This LO was made for a friend, I "owed" her a LO made by me. For some crazy reason she gave me WEDDING pictures...Ugh dosn't she know that "pretty" is hard for me. In the end i think it turned out well, and she was happy with it. :0)

Pattern papers by CTMH, flocked dimensional stickers by JoAnn's Balck & Cream line. Chipboard by Chatterbox ( painted black) & monogram Rub-Ons.

I think this next LO was my favorite of the weekend. Who wouldn't love that stinkin cute owl paper & chipboard?

Pattern Paper by Adorn It, Chipboard owl by Stampin' Up!, letter stickers by Scrapworks, scallop punch by Stampin' Up!, Rub-ons by We R Memory Keepers, & Chipboard brackets.

I have had this paper in my stash for AGES. Its just so cute but a bit crazy, so it took some creative juices to use it. Even though my photos don't have any cupcakes in them I just couldn't resist using these felt dimensional cupcake stickers that I HAD to have and bought on a whim!

Pattern paper by Junkitz, Felt cupcake deminsional stickers by Martha Stewart, Chipboard letters by Chatterbox, & Black Ric-Rac

This is a crazy LO. Not sure I love it but thats OK. I fell in LOVE with this new line by Cosmo Cricket (Snorkel) and again, HAD to have it. I think I had too many pictures to try to cram on a LO and with busy paper well, it just made for a lot going on. (and I still have LOTS of pictures leftover that I didn't use! Ack!- I swore of doing several pages of the same event ages ago. I digress)

Pattern paper & chipboard Snorkel By Cosmo Cricket, letters cut from silhouette- Cafe Rojo.

(My pages really are not crooked, I just can't seem to take a straight on picture no matter how HARD I try!!)

All elements with the exception of the chipboard letters by Chatterbox were from a kit by Making Memories. Corner Punch by EK Sucess & Scallop punch by Stampin' Up!

I have been dying to use thse darling felt snowflakes since I got them!

Pattern paper & Felt Snowflakes by Stampin' Up!, Rub-Ons by Daisy D's, Title cut from Silhouette Banard Condenced, & sticker letters.

His Holy Name- Righteous

Psalm 89: 14-16
Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne; Lovingkindness and truth go before You. How blessed are the people who know the joyful sound! O LORD, they walk in the light of Your countenance. In Your name they rejoice all the day, And by Your righteousness they are exalted.

Righteousness is derived from a root word that means “straightness.” It refers to a state that conforms to an authoritative standard or norm and so is in keeping with what God is in His holy character. Righteousness is a moral concept. God’s character is the definition and source of all righteousness. God is totally righteous because He is totally as He should be. The righteousness of human beings is defined in terms of God’s. God is always righteous and His righteousness causes Him to always think and do what is right or act in perfect goodness in relation to His creation. He will always do what is right. God’s justice, love & mercy must be harmonized with His righteousness which cannot be compromised. As an attribute of God it is united with His holiness as being essential in His nature In short, the righteousness of God is all that God is, all that He commands, all that He demands, all that He approves and all that He provides (through Christ in the gospel).

God always acts righteously; His every action is consistent with His character. God is always consistently “Godly.” God is not defined by the term “righteous,” as much as the term “righteous” is defined by God. God is not measured by the standard of righteousness;

God sets the standard of righteousness.

And the pages for my friend...

His Holy Name: Protector

Name #3 in the “His Holy Name” challenge: Protector. This name was a joy to study! As I studied this name, I couldn’t keep the song “Strong Tower” by Kutless out of my head. It was so awesome to hear them sing it live! It never ceases to amaze me how God brings things in our lives at just the opportune time, what a blessing this song has been to me these past couple of weeks!!

God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear... -Ps 46:1, 2a

“The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.”

-Proverbs 18:10

The Lord's name stands for His person, since it reflects His attributes, character and qualities. Here the name of God is Jehovah, His covenant Name by which He made Himself known to Israel. To know God in covenant is a strong tower.

The Name of Jehovah is pictured as if it were a strong tower because the reader can more easily understand the value of a strong tower. The metaphor “strong tower” indicates that God is a secure refuge. There is no safety in looking at the "strong tower". It is necessary to flee to God in order to be protected by Him. The word says they must "run". It does not say they are to amble or to stroll or to walk in a leisurely or idle manner but that they are to run.
Clearly this is not literal running (although that may be what we feel like doing when trouble knocks - The metaphor of “running” into the strong tower refers to a whole-hearted and unwavering trust in God’s Name and His willingness and ability to provide protection. It is only by faith that we can go to an invisible God

if you know your God and you know your God is near and you confidently trust your God in the midst of any trial, knowing that it is effecting His purpose, and then being thankful in the midst of that for the purpose of God even in the difficulty, you are granted the peace of God, that peace will guard you and protect you from anxiety, difficulty, distress, dissatisfaction, discontent, doubt." John MacArthur

His Holy Name- Sovereign

This Name was a really hard one for me. The more time I spent studying the more I realized that God is so much bigger than I can ever understand. One thing He is teaching me right now is to have faith and trust Him in all things- even the things that confuse me, frustrate me, and just plain don’t seem to make sense. BUT in that also- to have discernment of the TRUTH, not to fall for false teachings or even unintentional false interpretation of the word and who He is. Thank you Lord for teaching me and helping me grow!

Front:

Back:

I know this is hard to read… I had a lot to cram on a small space! Here is what it says….

God is sovereign over the future.
Absolutely NOTHING happens outside His control. ALL things happen in accordance with His plan. Consequently He rules over all things, including your future. You may not know what the future holds but you know WHO holds the future.

GOD PERMITS OUR CIRCUMSTANCES BUT REMEMEBRER; THAT THE MOST HIGH GOD CAN TURN ANY DIFFICULTY INTO AN OPPROTUNITY.

God is in charge of the entire universe all the time.

He does according to His will
No one can ward off His hand, no one can question what God does.

God is in control of our life.
God is in control, not Satan.
He is in total control,
He has always been in control, &
He will always be in control!

My First Digi LO!

I swore I'd never ever go there... (yet I said the same about going digital w/ a camera years ago too). Well, my Mom's BDay was last week and were headed out of town for a visit (and Z's bible quiz meet) so I had to get a gift done.

Tara, my amazing friend took this family shot of us at Christmas and I knew I needed to do something w/ this pic for a gift, since my Mom hasn't even seen the photos yet! And this morning (nothing like the last minute huh?) I had this brilliant idea...I should do it digital!

Honestly it took me longer to get an inspiration and find a digi kit that worked than it did to actually create it! I think after web surfing & downloading kits, the whole process took less than 45 minutes! (for the record I don't think I have EVER scrapped a LO tradditonally in 45 minutes. No matter HOW simple!)

So here you have it my very first ever digi LO... think it might be the first of many to come??? Hummm, you never know.... :0)
